Sure, we have all heard of the various low carb diets, but how do we know which one will help us to accomplish our goals? Are some of the low carbohydrate diets that we hear so much about only gimmicks - do they work? As much as we have heard about the low carbohydrate diet being good, it seems that recently we have also heard a lot of bad things about them as well. Is it even a good idea to go on one of the low carbohydrate diets or should we look elsewhere to meet our weight loss goals? Are all of these questions and more running through your head? If they are, that's great, because you should not make a decision that will ultimately effect your body without having the facts.

Many people have found failure with a diet because they tried to do it their own way, either by combining a few diets together or by simply making up their own. This is not a good idea and studies have shown that when a diet sticks to one particular diet and find out all they can from that one diet, that they are more likely to accomplish their weight loss goals. Now, to the choice at hand... The best low carbohydrate diets are first and foremost the ones that treat the diet more as a lifestyle change than a quick fix. It should be one that stresses the importance of good carbohydrate as opposed to the bad and one that places a special emphasis on exercise.

Studies have shown time and time again that the faster a person loses weight, the more likely theu are to gain all of that weight back. So your low carbohydrate diet should also stress losing the weight over a longer period of time, and you will increase your chances of success ten-fold.
