Low Carb Recipes for Every Meal
Probably the easiest meal for people on low carb diets is breakfast. After all, the most perfect foods for low carb dieting are meat, eggs and cheese. Combine those and you can come up with omelettes, "skillets" and quiches.Check out the following low carb recipe for a breakfast skillet. (This is one of those low carb recipes you can eat as it is for the induction phase of your low carb diet or in a whole wheat tortilla during the next phase.)
Sausage, Egg and Cheese Skillet
1 lb. ground breakfast sausage
4 eggs
1 Tablespoon milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Brown sausage in a skillet in "loose meat" fashion. Remove sausage from skillet and drain on a paper towel on a plate.
2. Beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper together in a small bowl and scramble the eggs in the same skillet you browned the sausage in.
3. When eggs are done to the desired consistency, turn heat to low and add the sausage to the same skillet with the eggs.
4. Add cheese and stir until the cheese is melted.
5. Eat and enjoy!
Of course, if you're following your low carb diet to the letter, you might have to be willing to explore things you never tried before. You'll probably use the low carb recipes that are in the book for whatever diet you're on. You might even buy a cookbook that has low carb recipes specifically for your particular diet. Countless cookbooks for the Atkins diet and South Beach diet can be found in libraries and bookstores. You can even find thousands of low carb recipes on the Internet. Just know that if you want to be successful on your low carb diet, variety is the spice of life, and that's what low carb recipes will give you--variety!
