Low Carb Diet Plans

There are a lot of low carb diet plans out there these days. Some make sense, some don't.

Finding the Right Low Carb Diet Plan
You've probably heard of the Atkins diet and the South Beach diet. They're the two most popular low carb diet plans out there today. But there are a lot more than just those. Some are more restrictive, some are less restrictive. Some make some sort of sense, others make no sense.

Most low carb diet plans don't allow you to have enough carbs to sustain good health without assistance from supplements, and even then you experience some unpleasant side effects. But at least some of them try to help you stay somewhat healthy through diet and nutrition. For example, between the Atkins diet and the South Beach diet, the South Beach diet is healthier. Why? Although both of these low carb diet plans restrict your carb intake drastically during the first two weeks, eventually the South Beach diet focuses on good carbs. The Atkins diet allows you to have carbs eventually too, just not as soon. The result? You probably lose more weight faster on the Atkins diet than you do on the South Beach diet.

As we mentioned earlier, there are a lot of other low carb diet plans out there, but they aren't as popular because they either allow too many carbs or not enough. If they allow too many carbs, it's actually better for you. But people usually want "instant results," and let's face it--the low carb diets that make you lose weight fastest are the ones that get the most press. With a "slower" low carb diet plan, the weight will come off slower, but what most people don't realize is that it's more likely to stay off that way.

The low carb diet plans that don't allow enough carbs simply aren't realistic. People can't or won't stay on them long enough to know if they really work, and if they do, they're too busy battling the side effects to worry about letting other people know how "great" they are. And in reality, they aren't that great for you.
